FILM & POETRY SYMPOSIUM (2018)
A 3-day symposium in two different venues on the relationship between text, language, writing, speech and the moving image, one of the central aspects of my PhD research. The symposium included three events; the first one - in collaboration with the National Film Archive - consisted of a rare screening of pioneering feminist film Topos by Antoinetta Angelidi (with a foreword by Rea Wallden), accompanied by a series of short feminist & queer poetry-films & film poems by Greece-based and diaspora artists, co-curated with Alex Demetriou; the second event was a workshop on video poetry with Canadian filmmaker, theorist and major figure on the history of the film poem, Tom Konyves; the closing event was a panel/discussion on film & poetry relations and combinative methods at the Atopos CVC space.
