Waiting for the Barbarians is the title of the 6th Athens Biennale, curated by the group Heart & Sword Division, consisting of Poka-Yio, Kostis Stafylakis, Nayia Yiakoumaki, Foivos Dousos and myself. Some pre-Biennale events opened on the April of 2017, followed then by the group declaring a year of active waiting, before the actual exhibition actually comes together in 2018. Amongst this biennale's curatorial focuses are: othering, exoticisation, neo-colonial concepts, as well as the alt-right, the rise of fascism and overidentification.
